Smart Content (Patent Pending)
Conceptual Overview
The Future of Verifiable Viewer Engagement
In today's media landscape, the competition for audience attention is fierce. Traditional engagement strategies—from trailers to fan clubs—often require significant effort from viewers, primarily appealing only to those who are already deeply engaged. These methods don’t capture a reliable measure of viewership or provide meaningful incentives for the moderately engaged viewer to become more involved.
Smart Content is Feature’s patent-pending framework designed to solve this. It transforms passive content consumption into an active, verifiable, and rewarding user experience without requiring any extra steps from the viewer.
TL;DR — Smart Content turns passive viewing into verifiable, rewardable engagement:
- Rewards are issued passively with no extra user steps
- Context-aware moments via multimodal generative AI
- First‑party engagement data (APIs coming soon)
- Headless integration: your UX stays yours
What is Smart Content?
Smart Content is a suite of technologies that work together to understand on-screen content, issue digital assets based on viewer interactions, and generate novel data streams that provide deep insights into audience behavior.
It is built on three core pillars:
- The Passive Issuance Engine: The core engine that frictionlessly delivers digital assets to users.
- Content Intelligence: The brains of the system that analyzes and understands video content to identify key moments.
- The Data Ecosystem: The platform's memory, capturing enriched engagement data and making it accessible via APIs.
The Core Pillars of Smart Content
1. The Passive Issuance Engine (The Engine)
This is the core of our platform. The Passive Issuance Engine handles the frictionless minting and distribution of digital assets (tokens, collectibles) directly to a user’s wallet based on their engagement.
The entire process is designed to be invisible to the end-user. As they watch content and reach designated milestones, assets are automatically awarded without requiring manual transaction signatures, which would detract from the viewing experience. This ensures the reward mechanism enhances, rather than interrupts, engagement.

2. Content Intelligence (The Brains)
Content Intelligence is how our platform understands what is happening inside a piece of content. This allows for the creation of highly contextual and relevant rewards tied to specific moments, characters, or themes.
We leverage state-of-the-art multimodal generative AI models that analyze both video streams and text-based prompts. These models encapsulate what were traditionally separate machine vision and language processing components to provide a holistic understanding of the content.
The output is a rich, structured JSON payload containing:
- Semantic content descriptions.
- Event detection (e.g., "a goal is scored").
- Moment identification (e.g., "character A picks up item B").

3. The Data Ecosystem (The Memory & Voice)
Smart Content doesn't just process data; it creates new, valuable data streams. Every interaction, every asset issued, and every piece of intelligence generated contributes to a rich, longitudinal profile of viewer engagement.
This ecosystem consists of two main parts:
- Data Lake: A scalable, centralized repository where all enriched data from the Content Intelligence and Passive Issuance engines is stored.
- Platform Data APIs (coming soon): A set of secure APIs that will allow tenants to query this data lake, gaining unprecedented insights into how their audience interacts with content on a granular level.

How It All Comes Together
Smart Content creates a powerful feedback loop where content drives engagement, engagement generates data, and data provides insights to create even more compelling content.
Issuance is asynchronous; results are delivered to tenants via webhooks. For request signing and security, see Authentication. For end‑to‑end integration context, see the Integration Guide. If you capture client-side events, consider the Tracking SDK.
Who is this for?
- Streaming and sports platforms seeking highlight‑based rewards
- News and long‑form content apps measuring deep engagement
- Fandom/loyalty programs issuing episodic collectibles or streak rewards
Security & privacy
All user‑visible steps remain tenant‑controlled and fully white‑label. See Authentication for request signing, webhook verification, and best practices.
